Present and Past
Project Implementation
The RSP has been implementing HIV/AIDS prevention Projects since 1999 for high risk population such as Female Sex workers, Truckers and Migrant workers at Mumbai and Thane District with financial and technical assistance from some reputed national and international organisations. The activities of these project are being carried out as per the guide lines of National AIDS Control Socity (NACO)- Government of India.
Margdeep Project :
Targeted Intervention Project is being implemented for 20,000 Migrant Workers and
Truckers at Dahisar (East), Mumbai in Collaboration with Mumbai Districts AIDS
Control Society (MDACS) since September 1999.The implementation of this Margdeep Project stopped from 1st April 2024.
Sahyog Project:
Targeted Intervention Project is being implemented for 25,000 Migrant Workers at
Bhiwandi, Dist. Thane in collaboration with Maharashtra State AIDS Control Society
(MSACS) since April 2001. The Avert Society and Public Health Foundation of India
had provided financial and technical support to this project during the period from
2009 to 2012 and 2012 to 2017 respectively. At present the financial and technical
support is given by MSACS.
Kasturi Project:
Targeted Intervention Project was being implemented among 1,500 female Sex Workers
and Bar Girls in Dahisar and Borivali areas of Mumbai city in collaboration with Mumbai
Districts AIDS Control Society (MDACS) since 2004.This Kasturi Project surrendered to MDACS & stopped implementation from 1st October 2022.
PPTCT Projects :
Targeted Intervention for Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission of HIV in Dahisar,
Borivali, Kandivali and Goregaon area (Municipal Ward) of Mumbai city in collaboration with
IL & FS. This Project period started in 2006 and ended in November 2015.
Samwad Project:
Targeted Intervention Project was being implemented among 2,500 Bar Girls in Dahisar
to Goregaon areas of Mumbai city in collaboration with FHI, SOSVA and Mumbai Districts
AIDS Control Society (MDACS) respectively during the period 2006 to 2012.
